Explore the science and technology of "Talking to Space!”
Meet a team member who worked in NASA's Mission Control Center when the Apollo 13 Astronauts radioed: “Houston, we have a problem….” Learn COM techniques from an engineer who managed the International Space Station and directed astronaut repairs. And try your hand at live radio AND radio astronomy using a satellite dish telescope to pick up signals from deep space!
In hands-on science, you’ll “see” the invisible electromagnetic spectrum, map the infosphere, use a radio telescope dish to detect objects, and even transmit your voice LIVE over the airwaves!
Also, travel to Saturn in our digital dome and see how the Huygens Probe landed on its moon Titan, sending back our first images of one of the most exciting unexplored regions in the Solar System!
Tickets include admission to the museum, refreshments and the opportunity to participate in the above adventures.
The program agenda begins at 9:30 a.m., and space and materials are limited, so reserve your spots today!
